Our article, entitled "Challenges in Engineering Conductive Protein Fibers: Disentangling the Knowledge" will be published in The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering as part of a special issue on Emerging Leaders in Chemical Engineering and Science. The article reviews the challenges, limitations and future possibilities for engineering conductive protein materials. It also emphasizes the effects of various experimental parameters on the characterization of these biological conductors, and the need for standardized methods and collaborations to strengthen this emerging research field.
